Frommer's Review
The prettiest restaurant in the Old City is housed in a newly restored room with exposed stone walls, Crusader-era arched ceilings, an indoor fountain, rustic wooden tables, and panels of hand-painted Armenian tiles that are a feast for the eye. The food is prepared with special Armenian herbs and seasonings that give each dish a slightly novel taste. Inexpensive appetizers are great here -- choose from delicate home-style meat pizzas (small but delicious) and a range of cold salads, soups, and stuffed vegetables. The pepper salad and the cucumber and yogurt salad are excellent. Main courses are mildly exotic and always delicious. Friday nights, special traditional dishes are brought in from the kitchen of the owner's and neighboring family's homes -- you can have a fine home-style feast. Background music is Armenian and Greek. Wine and beer, a rarity in Old City restaurants, is an added attraction.
