Sima's is my favorite place on the street, and a local legend for its wonderfully seasoned Jerusalem Mixed Grill, which comes with chips (french fries), salad, bread, and condiments if you order it as a platter. I like the mixed grill better in its less-expansive pita sandwich form. Sima's is often mobbed, so a takeout mixed-grill pita sandwich could be a good bet. You must order a platter meal rather than a sandwich in order to qualify for table service at busy times. Best not to think about which iron, vitamin B and cholesterol-rich organs may be lurking in the mixed grill (most of which is chicken and lamb). Sima's fame has led to a branch opening in trendy Tel Aviv. Tip: I like to slice a small, fresh market tomato into my mixed grill sandwich.
