Atmosphere and history! The dining terrace at this landmark has been a favorite Jerusalem meeting place for decades and the dining room is decorated in an Islamic art deco style of the British Mandate era, with an Ottoman Turkish fireplace. At press time, the food was pleasant, but basically average. The menu starts with brunches, and coffee and cakes; it goes on to include salads and quiches, vegetable, meat, and shrimp pies. More ambitious and pricier fish and steak courses top the selections. There is also a complete wine list. The "Y" is open every day and very central, making it a convenient place to dine.
