Frommer's Review
With dazzling views of the Old City walls, Mount Zion, and the ancient City of David, the terrace of this restaurant is an absolute must for a meal or coffee and dessert, from late April until November (and whenever the weather is warm enough in winter). The staff lets the freshest vegetables, the finest herbs, and wonderful breads and cheeses speak for themselves. You can feast on a country salad and an order of freshly baked house bread (served with fresh herbs and olive oil, and highly recommended); or try the soups, elephantine bagels, homemade pastas, and excellent country-style sandwiches. Remember, portions are large: A "small" Greek salad here is more than a meal for one, and can easily be shared. Trout, very moderately priced, is among the real gems of the menu. Desserts here are refined rather than hardy, and include a thick flourless chocolate cake. Jazz players and other musicians perform on Fridays from 5 to 9pm; Mondays from 6 to 9pm there's a chamber quartet. There's a full bar with a good array of wines. Friday evening and Saturday, there are specials, often including fresh local fish, at great prices.
