Frommer's Review
Even with two levels of dining rooms and tables spread out onto the plaza at the Jaffa Road end of Rivlin Street, it's still sometimes hard to fit everyone into this popular kosher L'Mehedrin restaurant. Portions are big, delicious, and reasonably priced. Grab a tray and proceed to the counter, where English-speaking staff will explain the changing array of freshly baked vegetable pies in whole-wheat crusts, quiches, lasagnas, buckwheat burgers, and grilled tofu served with herbs or spicy peanut sauce. You can order just a cup of cold yogurt, garlic, and cucumber soup beautifully flavored with dill, or a full meal with your choice of a personally constructed salad, steamed vegetables, brown rice (all priced by weight so you can take as much or little as you want) or hot soup, and choose from a selection of great breads and desserts (including sugar-free). Some macrobiotic foods are offered; however, microwave ovens are used. At mealtimes, the place can be a madhouse, with long lines at the buffet and checkout, but otherwise this is a great choice for a non-time-consuming meal.
