Frommer's Review
Jacksi looks like another small, stylish bar/restaurant, but its chef-owner is an Israeli from the south of France, and his dishes make this place a standout. Many presentations, especially among the appetizers, are both visual and culinary surprises. Try the foie gras on a crab pancake with wild berry sauce; or a seafood pastry with spinach salad and seasonal fruits. There are many classic dishes, such as veal sweetbreads in lemon garlic sauce; and mussels in butter, white wine, garlic, and parsley. Many meat courses are quite lavish, including a filet of veal with shrimp served on sweet potato and black olive puree with smoked goose breast in cream sauce; and lamb ribs with filet of veal in honey, garlic, and rosemary sauce. Fish and seafood courses are also luxurious -- the especially fine calamari (soaked for hours in milk for tenderness) is prepared in a number of wonderful ways; the coconut-coated fried calamari is fun and delicious. Desserts are also exceptional. Most dishes run under NIS 90 ($20), but there's also a tasting menu that comes close to NIS 450 ($100) per person without wine. There are fixed-price lunch and dinner specials.
