Frommer's Review
Very fresh fish and simply prepared seafood (letting the quality speak for itself) brings Jerusalemites in the know here -- especially on Saturdays, when great restaurant options are few and far between in West Jerusalem. There are a variety of sauces on the menu, but the restaurant's strength is its selection of fresh fish, delicately herbed, seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Go for the local fish: baby sea bass; lebrak and denise from the Red Sea; or Saint Peter's fish from the Sea of Galilee (avoid the imported salmon steak). Among the appetizers, the mixed seafood platter for two (NIS 117/$26) is a meal in itself, highlighted by delicate Jaffa crabs and fresh shrimp in a dill cream sauce. Salads are large, laced with mint and pomegranate seeds, and easy to split. For main courses, the mixed fish platter for two is a good choice if you can substitute a local fish for the tuna or salmon steak. There's also a good choice of meat dishes, ranging from foie gras in Calvados to veal filet in a choice of sauces. Main dishes come with herbed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The place is charming, with a garden terrace and an indoor section of rough Jerusalem stone, and arched doorways and windows. There is a separate dining section with a bar. A new Lebanese menu has just been added to the basic range of fish and seafood choices.
