Frommer's Review
The Gloria is moderately priced, considering its location and modern facilities. The entrance is up a flight of steps; from there an elevator takes you up one more level to the hotel desk, where an English-speaking clerk awaits you. The lobby is spacious but simple, with lots of Jerusalem stone and a scattering of local crafts as decorative touches. The rooms, last renovated in 1987, are relatively large and quiet and have either twin or double beds, and central heating. The dining room, where you'll find the breakfast buffet, overlooks the Tower of David and West Jerusalem. In 1999, a new 22-room annex was added across the street from the main building; ask to see these new rooms before deciding which you prefer. Small amenities may not be available, but the Old City ambience, good management, and excellent location are big pluses.
