Inbal Hotel Review

For decades this was the popular Laromme Hotel. The 1980s-style Inbal was originally slated to be a skyscraper, but public pressure demanded it be redesigned as a low-rise that would not clash with the city's skyline. The result is an interesting structure set at the edge of Liberty Bell Park (a plus for children) and built around a balconied atrium lobby. A new Executive Lounge was opened in 2008, but other public areas and guest rooms need updating. Rooms come in two sizes; the larger (maximum) rooms are spacious, with luxurious bathrooms, and cost about $70 (£35) additional for a double. There are 14 well-appointed suites. The outdoor pool is covered with an air balloon and heated for winter swimming. Tip: Guests get triple El Al points for each stay.

Facilities:
3 restaurants; bar; heated outdoor pool; children's pool; fitness center; Jacuzzi; business services; shopping arcade; salon; room service; massage; laundry service; nonsmoking rooms; synagogue; rooms for those w/limited mobility

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
