Frommer's Review
This friendly, family-run hotel offers marvelous, panoramic vistas; an atmospheric location amid the gardens of the Mount of Olives; and proximity to the many churches on the Mount. Rooms are simply furnished, but comfortable and centrally heated; the Plus rooms are worth the few dollars more. The downside is a tough climb up to the hotel and the distance from both Old and New cities -- you'll need taxis, especially at night, when the Mount of Olives is dark and empty. Jewish taxis from the New City may refuse to take you all the way. Ask about room no. 317 (the panorama room), with an especially fabulous view of the Old City -- usually booked by TV news crews. There is a TV lounge.
