Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa

Located in a peaceful suburb a few minutes' drive from Sandton central, this certainly sequesters you from the buzz of Jozi life, with lovely lawns overlooked by a smart dining terrace. The real reason most choose to stay here are the palatial-size and luxuriously styled rooms. Each suite has its own theme and very unique personality; premier suites have two TVs, a DVD player, Jacuzzi tub, and library. Created by John and the creative Anna Thacker, the hotel feels more like a sprawling mansion, with such generous touches as complimentary tea trays (delivered to your room on request), transfers to Sandton, sherry in the room, and shoe shines. The biggest drawback is feeling totally cut off from the city lights (though, in good traffic, Sandton shopping mall is under 10 min. away); then again, with a plush spa and wonderful gardens, feeling well out of the city may be just the thing.
