Happy Hotel

From the hotel's panoramic hillside terrace, enormous enough to accommodate the heated half-Olympic-size pool, the Happy (formerly the Harpy) takes full advantage of the breathtaking views of Kalamar Bay. The trade-off? The main structure is a dull glass-and-cement monster that offends its more traditional surroundings through an attempt toward innovation. Still, you'll have your back to the hotel most of the time anyway. The 50 rooms and suites are divided among 6 pastel-pink blocks, all with a private exterior access, and all but four rooms have a sea view, thanks to large sliding-glass doors to the terrace or balcony. Room decor is a bit 1950s, with functional taupes and hunter-green furnishings and straightforward modular furniture. Hotel facilities include a game room, hotel cinema, business center w/secretarial services, and mini market, and there are (scheduled) shuttles into Kalkan as well as a beach drop-off service (free on request).
