Kansas City's premier museum, undergoing massive expansion that will increase its size by 71% upon completion in mid-2007, is especially noted for its Asian art, including Tang dynasty bowls and Ming dynasty furniture; an outdoor sculpture garden with the largest U.S. collection of bronzes by Henry Moore; one of the country's largest collections of American photography; the largest public collection of works by Missouri native Thomas Hart Benton; a collection of 17th- and 18th-century European paintings; Impressionist and post-Impressionist pieces; and American art. The museum includes works by Caravaggio, Titian, Rembrandt, Renoir, Monet, Picasso, Gauguin, van Gogh, Andy Warhol, and Willem de Kooning. The airy Rozelle Court Restaurant has extended dinner hours on Friday, with live jazz. Plan on 2 hours or more here.
