Frommer's Review
The Kansas City area's only full-service resort and spa occupies a historic 1912 limestone hotel situated on 16 landscaped acres, about a 30-minute drive from downtown and the airport. Its holistic spa and wellness center offers body and beauty treatments, including Vichy massage showers, mud and aloe body wraps, mineral baths, hydrotherapy, massage (including hot stone and couples massage), and more. Rooms are basic, but the historic lobby, extensive recreational offerings (including an indoor swim track, landscaped outdoor pool, banked jogging track, hiking and biking trails, badminton, horseshoes, and volleyball), its parklike setting, and rustic grandeur make this a top-choice restorative getaway.
