Restaurant Sandgrund, Sandgrundsudden (tel. 054/21-16-70), is Värmland's best-known dance restaurant. Lots of people frequent this place, and it's easy to make new acquaintances. A pub and dance club on two floors, Arena, Kungsgatan 18 (tel. 054/21-95-95), draws a lively, young crowd. One of the town's best pubs is The Bishop's Arms, in the Elite Stadshotellet Karlstad, Kungsgatan 22 (tel. 054/29-30-00). This is a classic pub opening on the Klarälven, and it offers a wide range of beer. Drawing even more business and enjoying greater popularity is Wollpack Inn, Järnvägsgatan 1 (tel. 054/15-80-16), a British-style pub.
