At last count, Kas was host to 75 restaurants, cafes, bars, and patisseries -- but with the competition so steep, it's difficult to predict which ones will make it. Here is a short list. Meanwhile, some of the best meals in Kas are prepared at your little hotel. Hotels and pensions that accept dinner reservations from nonguests are Otel Çapa, Çukurbag Yarimadasi (tel. 0242/836-3190), offering a four- or five-course meal with table service; the Diva Residence Hotel, Çukurbag Yarimadasi (tel. 0242/836-4255); and Denizalti, also on the peninsula (tel. 0242/836-2741), whose chef is formerly of Museedechanga in Istanbul. Expect to pay 25YTL to 50YTL ($22-$44/£10-£20) per person, particularly if you are ordering fish.
