Frommer's Review
The charming plantation-style building that used to be the Hanalei Museum is now Hanalei's gourmet central. Postcards is known for its use of healthful ingredients, island-fresh and creatively presented dishes (like fresh fish, grilled or blackened, with macadamia-nut butter, honey Dijon, or peppered-pineapple sage), and for its imaginative use of local ingredients (as in taro fritters served with papaya salsa). Other choices include Thai summer rolls, sautéed prawns, nori rolls (filled with rice, vegetables, and tempeh), and ever-popular laulau-style fish tacos and seafood specials. Omelets, bagels, eggs Florentine, hot cakes, and muffins are some of the day's starters. In the front yard, an immense, mossy, hollowed-out stone serves as a free-standing lily pond and roadside landmark. Great menu, presentation, and ambience -- a winner.
