Formerly the SunSpree Resorts, a division of Holiday Inn which emphasizes moderate rates and lots of free activities for families, the Aloha Beach is now under new ownership. The result is a family-friendly choice located right next door to Lydgate Beach Park (with Kamalani Playground for the kids) and convenient to nearby golfing. Kids 12 and under eat free when dining with a parent in the restaurant and ordering from the keiki (child) menu. The new management is focusing on the ecological and cultural aspects of the resort with activities like free cultural presentations in the lobby, displays by Hawaiian artists, a buffet featuring "local" food, and other events.
