Kauai Banyan Inn

On a hilltop, overlooking an acre of landscaped property, a stream, and, of course, an old banyan tree, is this country inn, with five rooms and a darling cozy cottage next door. Centered around a courtyard with a burbling fountain, this is a place of peace and quiet, great for relaxing and resting. The owner, Lorna, has a daughter who is a licensed massage therapist and can give you an in-room massage to relieve jet lag and built-up tension. Each room is good sized with hardwood floors, comfy beds, and either a kitchenette (a 3/4-size fridge, microwave, two-burner stove, and coffeemaker) or a complete kitchen. All the rooms have terrific pastoral views of the rolling countryside, lanais, separate private bathrooms, and private entrances. There's a barbecue area outside. Not appropriate for kids under 10.
