Blueberry Hill Inn Review

The homey Blueberry Hill Inn lies in the heart of the Moosalamoo recreation area, on 180 acres along a quiet road about 45 minutes northwest of Killington, perhaps midway to Middlebury. With superb hiking, biking, canoeing, swimming, and cross-country skiing, it's a good destination for those inclined toward spending time outdoors, away from the bother of everyday life. From an inn brochure: "We offer you no radios, no televisions, no bedside phones to disturb your vacation." There are also no Jacuzzis or double-sided fireplaces, either, a bit surprising given the high room rates. But there are plenty of country-design quilts and simple pieces of furniture; this is a place for true rustication. The inn dates to 1813, though one graceful addition is the greenhouse walkway leading to the cozy guest rooms. Family-style meals are served in a rustic dining room, with a great stone fireplace and homegrown herbs drying from the wooden beams. Remember that rates here are charged per person, not per room; kids are charged half-price.

Facilities:
Sauna; bike rental; babysitting

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
