The core of this hotel is a medieval castle whose walls and turrets have been covered with stucco, and a modern extension has been added nearby. The entire complex sits on a hill looking over the village, less than 1.5km (1 mile) from Kitzbühel, with dozens of mountain paths originating at its door. Rooms, especially the suites, are elegantly furnished and come in a wide range of sizes, including some spacious enough for sitting areas with wrought-iron coffee tables. Many beds are canopied. French doors lead to private patios or balconies. The dozen or so large, Gothic-style castle rooms are the most sought after. Bathrooms are small but functional and equipped with tub/shower combinations. The hotel restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and provides a lavish breakfast buffet for guests.
