An imitation fireplace, knickknacks on the mantle, antiques, a drop-leaf desk, and dark-wood wainscoting lend an English country atmosphere to this tourist hotel's lobby. The decent-size rooms are clean and tastefully decorated with double-size beds and larger-than-usual bathrooms, with twins and doubles even providing a separate sink area. The most expensive rooms are so-called "designer theme rooms" on the ninth floor. The "cat" room, for example, has the logo of a cat repeated on the drapes, pillows, sheets, and elsewhere, but I fail to see why anyone would pay more for it.
