One of the earliest hotels in Chaweng, Tradewinds is a super midrange choice to this day. From the higher-priced bungalows, you can step right off your front porch into the powder-soft sand, while standard bungalows are in a secluded garden not far from the beach. Rooms have large beds and rattan furnishings, new large bathrooms, and terraces big enough for barbecues. A newer motel-style block is now available but a better choice might be the bungalows. The property is also home to Samui's catamaran sailing center, under the tutelage of long-time sailor and islander, John Stall.
