Planning a Trip

Getting There -- A slow local train, making more than 50 stops en route, travels from Zell am See to Krimml. Trains depart every 2 to 3 hours (trip time: about 90 min.). Contact tel. 05/1717 (www.oebb.at) for rail information. About a dozen buses depart every day from the railway station at Zell am See for Krimml (trip time: about 75 min.). If you're driving from Zell am See, take Route 168 west to Mittersill, and continue west along Route 165.

Visitor Information -- The tourist office (tel. 06564/7239-0; www.krimml.at) in the town center is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to noon and 2:30 to 5:30pm, Sunday 8:30 to 10:30am and 4:30 to 6pm. Krimml lies 153km (95 miles) southwest of Salzburg.
