Now part of the Best Western worldwide family of hotels, this fine address has received a complete overhaul. Though the town-center hotel doesn't escape the angular, brick-and-stucco facade its six floors were given when it was built in 1985, added glamour now comes from the parquet floors and the sleek, contemporary furniture. The hotel does a thriving trade with business travelers, but is a suitable choice for the casual visitor intent on sightseeing. All the midsize bedrooms are comfortably furnished and maintained, each with modern bathrooms. We've found the staff to be cheerful and cooperative, but, even so, it's not the equal of the Scandic Grand.
