Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant ReviewHart's Turkey Farm Restaurant is bad news . . . if you're a turkey. It's Thanksgiving every day here: On a typical busy day, this place dishes up more than a ton of America's favorite bird to a loyal clientele of regulars and tourists. Opened in 1954, it hasn't changed much since then. This is a comfortable, New England family restaurant without any fuss, in a big dining space (the most seats in the entire lakes region, claim the proprietors). Service here is afflicted with the same rushed efficiency found in any place that sees lots of bus tours, but it's New Hampshire-friendly enough. There's a cute gift shop, too, where you can find even more turkeys -- and they sell carryout pies in the lobby. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
