The Inns at Mill Falls ReviewThis expanding complex is gradually dominating Meredith, but has managed its growth pretty well so far. Accommodations are spread among four buildings, each subtly different, all well tended and comfortable. The main inn is in a former mill complex and has attractive, simple rooms. Units in the more upscale Chase House all have gas fireplaces; most also have balconies with rockers. The Inn at Bay Point is on 2,000 feet of lakefront, and most rooms have balconies with sensational views. In 2004, the inn unveiled Church Landing, a converted church right on the lakefront (it's connected to the other by a footpath). This annex offers rooms and suites with gas fireplaces, double Jacuzzis, and balconies. A pool and health club were also added to this new section, as well as marina space and a restaurant -- one of eight in the inns, ranging from sub sandwiches to more upscale fare. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
