Located next to the Main Dining Room in the Lodge at Koele, between the 35-foot-high Great Hall and a wall of glass looking out over prim English gardens, this wonderful spot is the Lodge's "casual" dining room. The Terrace is far from your typical hotel restaurant -- the menu may be fancy for comfort food, but it does, indeed, comfort. Hearty breakfasts of waffles and cereals, fresh pineapple from the nearby Palawai Basin, frittata, and blue-crab Benedict make a grand start to the day. Dinner choices include slow-roasted lamb shank, grilled beef filet, roasted pork chops, fresh fish of the day, and a couple of vegetarian selections (garganelli pasta with sautéed mushrooms and white truffle butter; a teriyaki-glazed vegetable and tofu brochette with zucchini couscous).
