Getting There -- The easiest way to reach Montignac is to drive northeast from Les Eyzies on D706 for 19km (12 miles).
Rail service is to the neighboring hamlet of Condat-Le-Lardin, 9.5km (6 miles) northeast. From there, taxis (tel. 05-53-51-80-46), which usually wait at the railway station, take visitors to Montignac for 15€ to 21€ ($20-$27). If no taxis are waiting, a railway station employee will call one for you. There's infrequent bus service from Sarlat, near Les Eyzies, but no bus connections from Condat to Montignac.
