Frommer's Review
"Garden of the Heart," as the name translates, is a delightful, unique park whose manicured lawns, ponds, waterfowl, and Japanese pagodas and bridges are in stark contrast to the derelict Parque Pedro de Valdivia next door and its depressing zoo. Japanese architect Akira Ohira designed the 2.6-hectare (6 1/2-acre) grounds in honor of La Serena's 450th anniversary.
