This pleasant colonial-style hostel is hard to miss with its vibrant yellow and crimson exterior. Despite being centrally located just a couple of minutes' walk from Plaza de Armas, the hostel is on a quiet street and exudes a very peaceful vibe. The spotless, airy rooms are a step above the sterile functionality of most hostels and even have small kitchenettes and accessories such as hair dryers and irons. The staff is warm and extremely helpful and can arrange transfers to the bus station and airport. It's worth paying the extra $6/£4 for a room with a private bathroom. Advanced reservations are highly recommended from March through December, when the hostel gets busy with college students.
