Review of Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art
This small but effective gallery is one of the few remaining places on The Strip where you can see fine art, if you are so inclined. Works by brand-name artists (like Warhol, Monet, Picasso, and Ansel Adams) give it legitimacy and shows from more unexpected choices (actor/comedian Steve Martin, for instance) give it cachet. Will there be as interesting a show when you go? Beats us. (When we wrote this, it was "Figuratively Speaking," a collection of sculpture and paintings studying the human form.) Then there's that ticket price. Do let us point out that admission to the Louvre -- needless to say, quite a bit larger and with, one can safely say, some notable works -- is about the same price as this gallery. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
