Frommer's Review
This is a tranquil and visually appealing alternative (within the limited range of chains) to the Strip's hubbub, featuring courtyards, rustic benches, attractive pools, barbecue grills, and picnic tables. The staff is terrific -- friendly and incredibly helpful. The rooms are immaculate and attractive. Spend the extra money for an executive room, which features a queen-size bed, a small fridge, a wet bar, and a microwave oven. Double queens are larger but have no kitchen facilities. And two-bedroom suites are not just spacious, they are really full apartments, with large living rooms (some with sofa beds), dining areas, and full kitchens. Ground-floor accommodations have patios, and all accommodations feature bathrooms with oversized whirlpool tubs.
The hotel only recently became a La Quinta, and the property is undergoing a million-dollar renovation, which is expected to be complete by October 2008. It's unclear if the renovation will be noisy or otherwise bothersome, so you might want to ask when booking a room. Rooms and public areas have new paint, carpet, wallpaper, new flooring, and beds with pillow-top mattresses.
Facilities:
Outdoor pool; Jacuzzi; tour desk; car-rental desk; free airport/Strip shuttle; coin-op laundry

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
