The Sheridan Livery Inn ReviewThis downtown inn occupies a large barn-size structure built in 1887 by John Sheridan to house his stable and carriage business. The architecture has dictated spacious rooms, very high ceilings, tall windows, and 25 steps leading to the second floor (there is no elevator, so request a first-level unit if you have trouble climbing stairs). Although traditional furniture creates comfort and elegance in the units, this is not an antiques-laden inn. Seven of the 12 units have both a queen- and full-size bed, while two others have a king bed and sofa. Three suites have separate living rooms with sleeper sofas, and two of these also have tiny wrought-iron balconies. There are no public areas here; instead, guests are diverted to the Sheridan Inn Restaurant. Facilities: Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
