Restaurants

Lhasa's dining options are ever more diverse and present everything from excellent Tibetan to decent Chinese and good Western fare. If you can't face any of the above at 3,600m (11,808 ft.), there are even branches of the Chinese burger joint Dicos, one of which is opposite the Jokhang. For a fine cup of coffee or chai and a good cake selection while you surf the Net, The Summit Cafe (8am-10pm) has branches in the courtyard of the Shambhala Hotel on Zang Yiyuan Lu and another opposite Niuwei on Linkuo Bei Lu.
