Popular with tour groups and individual travelers, this hotel is several notches up from some of the decrepit guesthouses that line Beijing Dong Lu, but then so are the prices. Rooms are decorated with Tibetan furnishings and the bathrooms are clean and inviting. The Yak is considered a "hub" where tourists gather and share information. Next door is the ever-popular Dunya restaurant and Shigatse Travels is also on the property. The staff here is decent, though unwilling to give much of a discount as the place is often booked. Reserve ahead of time.
