Oh Dan Guesthouse

Tucked away on a street that runs past Ramonche Monastery just north of Beijing Dong Lu, this guesthouse offers clean and fresh rooms and bathrooms. Rooms at the back are quieter. It's near enough to the Barkhor but its location on a typical Tibetan street is so far devoid of the trappings of backpacker development. New ownership from Kham seems to be doing ok, but the rooftop and its stunning view of the Potala Palace remains undeveloped. Further up the street the same owners have a budget property with very basic but clean dorms housed in a beautiful traditional style exterior.
