A 5-minute walk east of the main intersection on the north side of the highway, this friendly Tibetan-run place is fly-infested, but offers great atmosphere -- the owner Loede may even play a little danye melody for you. Set around a sunny courtyard, the small rooms are homely and have wash-stands, but no bathroom. You should be able to avoid the very basic pit toilets when new rooms with bathrooms are finished in 2010. The snug restaurant serves decent yak-fried noodles and other simple dishes.
