Near Rincon de la Vieja National Park
In addition to the hotels listed below, there are a couple of other good choices by the park. On Cañas Dulces road, Buena Vista Lodge (tel. 2690-1414; www.buenavistalodgecr.com) is set on the edge of the national park and offers a wide range of activities and attractions. The delightful La Carolina Lodge (tel. 8380-1656; www.lacarolinalodge.com) is on a working farm, next to a clear flowing river. This place is located on the road between the Interamerican Highway and Upala, and it affords excellent access to the Tenorio Volcano and Río Celeste Falls.
