Bailhouse & Mews ReviewArguably, this is the best little guesthouse in Lincoln, and it's in the very heart of town, near the castle and cathedral. It's really like a boutique hotel with a long history (ca. 1350), when it was built as a medieval hall with a beamed roof and low walls that are still preserved in one of the bedrooms. Over the years, it has been substantially changed; it was a tavern for much of its life under various names such as the Blue Bell and the Falcon. When new owners took over the building, closed since 1999, they set about restoring it, preserving many of its original features. Bedrooms are spacious and have been decorated tastefully and comfortably, each with a view of the castle. The most dramatic rooms have luxury four-poster beds.
