Frommer's Review
The largest resort on the coast, Salishan is nestled amid towering evergreens on a hillside at the south end of Siletz Bay. However, because the resort is almost half a mile from the beach and on the inland side of U.S. 101, it's more of a golf resort than a beach resort. An extensive network of walking paths meanders through the 760-acre grounds, and there are plenty of activities for kids. Guest rooms come in three sizes. Whichever size you opt for, try to get a second-floor room. Most of these have cathedral ceilings and stone fireplaces. For breathtaking views, you'll have to shell out top dollar for a deluxe or premier room. The Salishan Dining Room is one of the most upscale restaurants on the entire coast and has a superb wine collection.
