This is a fun spot, one of Connecticut's best, with a cheery staff and rooms doused in ripe primary colors. The food? Make it Europe meets Asia, touching down in various parts of the Americas along the way. The results are spirited but never bizarre, and the menu changes frequently. Examples: Wild boar schnitzel with house-made potato salad, and clams tossed with heirloom tomatoes, pasta, and basil and fennel gremolata. Most of the entrees qualify as heart-healthy, and ingredients, whenever possible, are purchased from local farmers. Desserts, however, tend to be rich, gooey, and caloric -- apple spice cake is splendiferous. Saturday nights often feature live jazz, and there's outdoor dining in summer.
