Frommer's Review
Showcased in an austere high-rise evoking the bow of a great luxury liner, this first-class hotel is one of the top two big hotels in the city (the other being Britannia Adelphi). It caters largely to business travelers. You check in at a spacious lobby and are shown to one of the well-furnished but fairly standard bedrooms. Many bedrooms, though quite small, provide views of the River Mersey, and you can request a minibar. Average -- not grand -- comfort can be found here. The best units are the corner bedrooms, which are triangular in shape and face the river. Bedrooms are frequently renovated as need arises. Each small bathroom comes with a tub/shower combination and adequate shelf space.
