Frommer's Review
They say you either love or hate this off-the-beaten track gem. There's not much out here, but the hotel is self-sufficient and arranges good excursions. Standard rooms, in sandstone blocks, are arranged around bungalows constructed to look like the distinctive Sasak villages that you pass on the way to Kuta. Bungalows offer more space and have their own swimming pool. All rooms are done in all-natural fabrics and woods (even fun accents, like coconut-fiber telephones). The elevated pool is picturesque, with a series of lovely fountains. All of it overlooks the purest white beach and clear water, with surrounding hills and sky -- a romantic, luxurious getaway. The staff is superb, all are genuinely friendly, and most speak excellent English. The Mandara Spa is the bee's knees.
