Cornwall's Geodesic Domed Eden -- At first you think some spaceship filled with aliens has invaded sleepy old Cornwall. A second look reveals one of England's newest and most dramatic attractions, the Eden Project, Bodelva, St. Austell (tel. 01726/811911; www.edenproject.com), a 48km (30-mile) drive west of Plymouth. This sprawling attraction presents plants from the world over. It's open March 26 to October 29 daily 9am to 6pm (last admission at 4:30pm); October 30 to March 25 daily 10am to 4:30pm (last admission at 3pm). Admission is £15 for adults, £10 for seniors, £6.85 for students, £4.90 for children 5 to 16, or £35 for a family ticket (two adults, three children 5-15). The project lies 9.5km (6 miles) from the St. Austell train station, to which it is linked by frequent buses.
