Review of ONE, The SpaThis beach-themed spa -- it's designed to resemble a ship -- is owned by the tony Shutters on the Beach Hotel but located in a separate building, giving it a little more privacy than the typical hotel spa. Featuring Ole Henriksen's (the "facialist to the stars") all-natural products and services, ONE has a great selection of treatments and day packages with cheeky seaside names like the Clear as Day, a deep detoxifying treatment ($160 for 60 min.), or the Surf's Up pedicure ($130 for 90 min.). I recommend the 90-minute, hot-stone massage that's designed to restore balance to the body ($220). Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
