Formerly known as the Palace, this 1,100-capacity theater and nightclub -- just across Vine from the famed Capitol Records tower -- has been the site of numerous significant classical to alternative rock shows throughout for more than 60 years; everyone from Frank Sinatra to Nirvana has performed inside this Art Deco gem. After a much-needed makeover when it became the Avalon, club nights feature famous DJs such as Felix da Housecat and Sebastian Ingrosso.
