Conveniently situated near the city center, this smart business hotel with a neoclassical facade may not have fantastic views or any real sense of history, but it offers comfortable, quiet, and spacious accommodations. Elegant and uncluttered, the deluxe guest rooms have creamy marble floors, smart sofas, and good, firm mattresses. Bathrooms are also a decent size, and the second-floor deluxe and executive rooms have tubs. If you don't mind the extra dollars, the executive rooms are fabulously large, with plenty of cupboard space, separate sitting areas, and wonderful king-size beds. Stylish, but hardly ostentatious, La Place features a reliable restaurant and public areas punctuated with watercolors and color lithographs illustrating Lucknow's past. The inn has no pool, but businesspeople will be pleased to know that the entire hotel is Wi-Fi enabled.
