A classic, elegant landmark from 1882, Concordia was originally built as a private home and for many years it was a student hotel. You'd never know that to look at the building today -- it has been successfully converted to a government-rated, four-star hotel, a bastion of comfort, charm, and elegance. Although the public rooms have what is known as a "Lundian character," that style does not extend to the bedrooms, which have less character and are mostly midsize. They have been modernized and are comfortably furnished. The housekeeping here is about the finest in town. However, parquet floors, warm colors, and tiled bathrooms help a lot. We do like the addition of two armchairs to every double room -- in so many hotels, you only get one. It's next door to the brick house where August Strindberg lived in 1897 and is only a 5-minute walk south of the railway station.
