Jordan Hollow Inn ReviewHorse lovers and hikers have been enjoying this working farm and inn since 1980. It has 5 picturesque miles of hiking trails at the base of Hawksbill Mountain. The inn no longer rents horses, but the nearby Jordan Hollow Stables does (tel. 540/7778-2623; www.jordanhollowstables.com). Log veneers add a rustic touch to the buildings. Three types of guest quarters are offered. Those in the vine-entangled Arbor View are suites with separate living rooms and spacious, romantic bedrooms with a two-person whirlpool tub in one corner, a realistic-looking electric fireplace in another. The bedrooms open to a long porch with high-backed rockers suitable for taking in the mountain view. The units in the log-sided, cabinlike Mare Meadow Lodge sport oversize rustic furniture. Most luxurious of all are six log cabins atop a hill with great views of Hawksbill Mountain. These have two-person hot tubs, flatscreen TVs with DVD players, and small fireplaces. The Farmhouse Restaurant, in the original clapboard homestead with wraparound porches upstairs and down, offers very good cuisine, much of it with an Indian flare, along with Virginia wine. It's open for dinner Monday to Saturday from 5 to 8:30pm. Reservations recommended. Facilities: Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip.

| 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
